Dr. Curtis A. Merriweather, Jr. boasts a notable career of over 27 years, marked by achievements in the defense and information technology sectors. His expertise encompasses capture management, corporate strategy, cyber-security, entrepreneurship, information technology, and innovation. As a Chief Executive Officer of a defense contracting organization, Curtis oversees a multifaceted team, driving consistent revenue growth between 5-7% and expanding the firm's market presence, especially in key international markets like the UK. His strategic approach has enhanced the company's acquisition initiatives and established pivotal relationships through dynamic marketing efforts.

In his previous role, Curtis managed the global implementation of the Ballistic Missile Defense System for NAVWAR, coordinating installations from Bahrain to Hawaii. His responsibilities at NAVWAR included key positions such as the liaison for the Assistant Secretary of the Navy of Research, Development, and Acquisitions (RDA) Chief Engineer’s Office (CHENG), chairing the Architecture Development Integrated Product Team, and acting as a liaison for the Chief Engineer in the Communications Department. Before NAVWAR, he honed his skills in computer engineering with the H-Canyon Reactor Facility, boosting software for distributed control systems as a contractor for the Department of Energy.

Curtis holds an MBA and an M.S. in Project Management from The Citadel, a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University of South Carolina. He has secured Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering (SPRDE) Level III and Program Management Level II certifications from the Defense Acquisition University. Additionally, he has a Ph.D. in Management from Case Western Reserve University and actively participates on various boards in both public and private capacities.

Recognized as a visionary leader, Curtis was honored by the White House as a Game Changer in 2020 and is slated to receive the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from the Biden Administration this spring. He actively contributes to the Academy of Management, and his proactive role in advocating for minority-owned business expansion reflects his commitment to fostering entrepreneurial growth and innovation.
